Armed with my Reblitz books, I've tinkered with some junk baby grands in the past, but this is my first substantial piano. I'm not an expert on pianos by any means, and know just enough to get into trouble. I know this piano is going to need some work, but i'm hoping I can get it playing well enough that I can enjoy it for a while even if its not of concert quality. I didn't think much of it, but then last night I got a call and apparently I now own a 9' Chickering. As I was leaving, I casually mentioned to the woman that if they don't find a buyer i'd give her $1,000 for the piano and I left her my phone #. They were asking $7,000 for it which is way out of my price range. I was at an estate sale over the weekend and they had a nice looking 9' Chickering grand.
